History

The Movement is a weekly worship service that started in the early months of 2009. There was a group of youth from Concordia Academy in Roseville that started to see that their school had grown into a pit of Christianity that had grown dry and complacent. One night at a worship service at another location they decided to start planning a worship service to hold at there own school. They planned it out and held their first worship service a little over a week later. The service went well so they felt that God was definitely urging them to continue. Weekly meetings started happening and the service began to grow bigger each week. Eventually the service was given the name "The Movement" this was because of the move of God that was happening through it. The service started very mellow and had the same style of a lot of other contemporary worship services, but that soon changed. The leaders of The Movement were very intent on pursuing God’s heart and in return seeing others pursue His heart. Eventually the meetings were filled with intense prayer and worship. It no longer was a service where you sang three songs and then were preached at. On the contrary, it became a two-hour service filled with music and prayer. There is often variation that happens from week to week. One week can be kick you in the teeth intense and others can be quiet and still before God. But the focus is all the same. To grow deeper in the things of God and to see others receive the things of God as well.

The Movement has grown and developed in the past year and know is focusing on seeing our generation worship God with their full hearts. The movement has partnered with other ministries that are also focusing on the same thing. As we grow as a body we hope to see similar gatherings of people who want to see this generation encounter God, and to in turn see a mass outpouring of God's most excellent love and grace.
